Empowering Leaders
Pastors, counselors and men’s leaders know all too well that pornography and sexual sin are enormous problems in the Church. Christian men have become addicted at unprecedented rates. They desperately need help from leaders who understand the magnitude of the problem and the spiritual answers that are needed.
At different times, a pastor or counselor very well may find himself helping men who frequent adult bookstores, strip clubs, massage parlors and prostitutes. He may also be forced to minister to men involved with peeking in windows, exposing themselves to women, making obscene telephone calls, sexually assaulting others, or even having sex with animals. He will most certainly deal with promiscuity among teenagers and adults. He will also probably minister to
homosexuals—both male and female. However, the primary recipients of his attention will be men who are addicted to Internet sexual activity; i.e. pornography, sexual chat rooms, interactive sex shows, etc.
Reaching Out
One of our primary objectives at Pure Life is to do everything we can to enable church leaders to more effectively minister to those who are coming to them in need. A pastor—or even a counselor—is like a doctor who is a general practitioner. Occasionally he needs to seek wisdom from or refer a patient to a specialist: someone who has dedicated his life to helping people with one specific kind of problem.
