No, we have set that price to help inmates who are buying our materials out of their own meager budget.

Do you donate books directly to inmates or to the chaplain’s office so that they can be distributed to inmates?

We have learned that the best way to reach as many inmates in need as possible is to supply materials to those that work directly with them. By sending a few sample copies to chaplains, the materials can be stocked in the prison or jail library and made available to the entire prison population. Moreover, the chaplain’s office can follow up with personal ministry. Nevertheless, we will also donate as many books as chaplains may need to support a class managed or endorsed by the chaplain’s office.

Does your donation policy extend to prison/jail ministry volunteers?

We are more than willing to support classes and ministry conducted in prisons and jails by the many volunteers and volunteer organizations the Lord has called to this area of service. We have found, however, that most volunteers work with or through the chaplain’s office.  For a number of reasons, we prefer to send materials through the chaplain’s office even when the actual ministry is being done by a volunteer.

Can a registered sex-offender come to the Pure Life Ministries Live-In Program?

For a number of reasons, we are not able to accept sex offenders into our Live-In Program. However, we do minister to sex offenders through our Overcomers At-Home Program. In addition, we know of two transitional residential programs which are dedicated to ministering to sex offenders and their families. Does Pure Life Ministries place inmates on their mailing list?

Generally speaking, mailing costs and address verification difficulties preclude us from adding inmates to our regular mailing list. However, inmates can be placed on the list to receive our monthly eNews if they have an active email address.
