Youth

There is a war raging for the innocence of our young people. Consider some of the following startling facts that have emerged from various surveys of young people:

  • The average American adolescent will view nearly 14,000 sexual references per year on TV.i
  • 61% of all high school seniors have had sexual intercourse and 21% have had 4 or more partners.”ii
  • Approximately 20% of teenagers had engaged in sex before turning 15 years old.iii
  • There are 4 million cases of sexually transmitted diseases among teens annually.iv
  • There are three-quarters of a million teen pregnancies.v
  • Over half of teens aged 15-19 in a recent poll had engaged in oral sex.
  • Depending on the study, 44%-90% of children between the ages of 8 and 16 have visited an adults-only website.vi

Reaching Out

Resources
All the free resources (articles, sermons, brief audio teachings, etc.) and teaching products on this website are suitable for mature adolescents, and we strongly encourage parents to take their teens through books such as At the Altar of Sexual Idolatry (boys), Create in Me a Pure Heart (girls) and The Walk of Repentance (both). Our DVDs and the CD series called Breaking Free from the Power of Lust are also applicable.

At-Home Program
The most significant help we offer to teenagers who are at least 16-years of age is through the Overcomers At-Home Program.

Speaking Events
We are also available to come and speak to young people on the topic of sexual purity. If you would be interested in hosting a speaking event designed for youth or young adults, you may contact our Speaking Ministry Coordinator by filling out our Contact Form or by calling 859.824.0378.
