Beware of Creating Your Own Religious System

As Jesus’ earthly ministry grew in prominence, His standing in the minds of the religious leaders worsened. They resisted His criticisms of their religious system, believing their views to be right, and His to be wrong. In Luke 11, we read of the climax of this contest when Jesus sternly and openly rebuked the Scribes and Pharisees of Israel. Luke Imperato, Director of Residential Counseling, helps us to see the core problems with the religious system of Jesus’ day, and warns us not to let those same faults infect our walk with the Lord.

The Lord transformed Luke’s life at Pure Life Ministries in 2016, following 15years of uncontrolled sexual immorality. He is an FBC Certified Biblical Counselor and currently serves as Director of the Residential Program. Luke previously served as a combat medic in the US Army and was deployed to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. As a medic in both civilian and military environments, Luke’s passion has always been helping those in dire need.
