Much of American Christianity is riddled with the false belief that you come as you are and can stay as you are. Paul disagrees with this when he says, "Reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord." The power of salvation in Christ is evidenced in a life free from the bondage of habitual sin and that power is available to those who respond in faith to the grace freely offered from the Lord.
