One day, Jesus went to teach in the synagogue of a small Galilean village. Among the crowd, unbeknownst to all but Jesus, a demon-possessed man sat listening. But soon the demon inside the man couldn’t stand to hear Christ’s words and began to act wildly and shout before Jesus finally drove him out. What could bring an Israelite to the place where a demon could possess him? And how was it that he could still attend worship services, even being in God’s presence, in such a condition?
