We often falter in our battle with the flesh. But someone continually giving in to sexual sin is not “faltering.” Their minds are fixed and set on the flesh. Romans 8 describes that mind as hostile toward God and cannot even obey God’s law. Proverbs 14 says the “backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways.” A person like this is unable to live a godly life because they always find excuses to obey their carnal desires.

This week, we look at the ways we rationalize sin and why it is crucial in gaining freedom from sexual sin.
