The 21st Century Disciple of Christ
In Scripture, the word ‘disciple’ means more than the word ‘student’ implies to a modern American. To be a disciple, or student, in first-century Judaism meant living and acting just like your teacher. This idea of discipleship is exactly what Jesus had in mind when He called men and women to follow Him. Today’s Christians are also called to emulate Jesus in the same way. Even in our vastly different culture, we must still live and act just like our Teacher. In this week’s message, Steve Gallagher preaches from Matthew 10, challenging the modern disciple of Jesus to live up to the high standard of their Master.
